Thomson Cabinets has a company sponsored first aid training program, and require all of our shop staff to maintain current  first aid certification.

We support the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Program for Cabinetmakers, for more information regarding this program visit www.tradesecrets.org.

Skills we look for:
  • Ability to visualize & build custom cabinets from shop drawings.
  • Ability to read architectural blueprints.
  • Experience in operating woodworking machinery including power saws, jointers, shapers, and hand tools.
  • Ability to fit parts and subassemblies together to form complex architectural millwork components such as reception desks, office workstations, bars, store counters, columns, store fronts, etc.
  • Ability to organize & prioritize.
  • Ability to anticipate & meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to apply veneer, stain, polish or plastic laminates to finish surfaces.
